Tardy/Absent
Students are counted tardy if they are not in their classrooms before the bell rings to signify the beginning of a given class period. Students who are more than 10 minutes tardy for a given class period will be counted absent.
Students are considered absent from a given class period if they are more than 10 minutes late to class. Students are required to provide a note from a parent or guardian for each absence within three days from the date of the absence or consecutive absences. Notes will be accepted after the three days. (For note requirements, see the Attendance homepage.)
A student must be in attendance for at least 90% of the days the class is offered during a semester; otherwise, loss of credit occurs. All absences (excused or unexcused) are counted toward the 90%. Contact the student’s AP for information regarding possible loss of credit.
