Mission Statement and Expectations
The Cypress Ranch Boys Soccer program’s primary goal is to help educate and develop young student athletes in addition to what they learn and achieve in the academic classroom environment. Our student athletes are expected to fully commit themselves to improving not just their soccer ability, but their sense of responsibility to teammates, peers, and the community as a whole. We expect every single one of our players to be upstanding members of the Cypress Ranch High School student body, and to have the understanding that their actions are a reflection of both themselves and this program. We emphasize success through hard work, discipline, and an unshakable commitment to excellence.
2018-19 Tryouts (MUST HAVE A PHYSICAL ON FILE WITH SCHOOL)
August 27-31: Students will tryout during 6th (JVB and JVA) and 7th (Varsity) periods. Students must be in the class period to tryout. Making this cut DOES NOT mean students are on the team.
November 26-28: All students have the opportunity to tryout (even those who made or missed the first cut) after school Monday-Wednesday of that week. Tryouts will be between 2:40 and 4:30 PM after each school day. The final roster will be made Wednesday after tryouts. Results will be posted the following morning.
Students who do not make the fall or final roster and have been in 6th or 7th period will be asked to change their schedules. They will not be allowed to remain in the class period.
Practices and Games
Students are expected to practice each day during the soccer period while in off-season. They must have cleats, shin-guards, long white socks, black shorts, and a plain white t-shirt. Those that make the final roster will then be provided with a uniform and Cypress Ranch practice shirts.
During the season, practices are held each day after school between 2:40 and 4:30. All players are expected to attend every practice unless notification is given to coaches prior to the practice. Games are Tuesday and Friday after school each week. All players are expected to attend (all student-athletes must travel with the team) all games. Sub-varsity players are expected to attend all varsity home games.
There will be practices over the winter and spring break holidays. All players will be expected to attend. Players who miss practices will forfeit playing time during games. Playing time during games is not guaranteed at any level.
